Went by train and bike to the landing site near Sparrieshoop, rainy weather hampered recovery. Chute and balloon were easily visible from the road. I was happy that I did not need to unpack any equipment in that rain, but closer inspection of the chute revealed that the sonde had been detached from the cord and was apparently gone. I looked for a dry place unpack my stuff and figured out that the sonde was still transmitting GPS, and I could find it in good shape directly at the edge of the road on the opposite side. Obviously it had been cut off the rope by a passing car.
